Work From Home - Simple Tips To Stay Motivated!

Monday, April 20, 2020

Today's post is a little bit out of the usual programming.
The world is currently facing some unusual times, and many of us are staying home.
Luckily, for me, I was already working from home.
So, for the most part, my day-to-day hasn't really changed too drastically.

But working from home, although is amazing in the majority.
It could get daunting and one can easily lose motivation.
But after a year of working out of my home, I've established some easy ways to keep yourself in check and stay motivated. And I thought I'd go ahead and share it here 💛

I hope this post will help some of you feel a little reassured and know that you're not in this alone!

TIP #1: Destinate A Work Space.
I noticed I feel more focused when I sit at my workspace, knowing that I'm there to work and get things done. Of course, there are days I switch it up and work in my living room or even in the back yard for a change of scenery.  But having a designated space to go back to has always helped keep my mind and work material stay organized.

TIP #2: Create A Work Schedule.
Just like working at an office, I stick to a schedule and keep myself accountable for it. I make sure I always get up at a certain time and give myself a timeline to when I need to be at my desk. If it helps, write down the night before in your planner or calendar what you would like to get done the following day to help keep you in check.

Which brings me to my third tip ...

TIP #3: Use A Planner.
I always make sure to put down what needs to be done for the week. If you don't want to do the whole week, then go day-to-day. I don't know what is it about writing it down that makes it that much more accountable. And it's just as satisfying to cross out and check off when done 😉

TIP #4: Get Out Of Your PJs!
As silly as it might seem, cause usually, we get ready to go outside so that we're presentable to other people. I think it's just as important to get yourself ready when at home as well. I don't mean put on full makeup or go full Vogue! But at least switch out to some comfortable loungewear. It'll 100% change the energy of your day.

And to add to that, make your bed while you're at it! Especially if your workspace is inside your bedroom. It's a good way to switch your mind from "this is my bedroom" to "this is now my workspace". 😊

Well, I hope these tips, although simple, helps some of you out!
Stay Safe!

Much love
